Oh, good ole’ Thanksgiving. Isn’t it crazy how one simple word (even if it is a compound) can bring to mind vivid images of colorful leaves, gigantic meals, and an unmistakable feeling of warmth and belonging? Thanksgiving, and the whole holiday season, is perhaps the greatest time of the year.
Sure, it’s hard to let go of the long days and care-free attitude that is associated with the summer months, but those days will be back before too long. For now, we are perfectly happy sipping our pumpkin spiced lattes, watching the leaves change colors and catching up on some much-needed family time. Continue Reading →
When you think about it, the roads can be a scary place. It seems like we have gotten comfortable with driving on a daily basis, and we take for granted how dangerous it can truly be. Just think about it, the average sized American man is about 5’10, 190 pounds, and can run at a top speed of 15 miles per hour. If you have ever seen a game of football before then you know how scary and damaging collisions between two grown men can be.
Cars, in contrast, average 4,009 pounds (over 200 times greater than that of a human) and can get to a top speed of over 100 miles per hour (almost ten times greater than a human). Car collisions are serious incidents and can be very dangerous for those involved, but thankfully technology has advanced to a point where vehicle companies like GMC and Buick are able to implement extensive safety measures to keep drivers and passengers safe in the event of a collision or equipment malfunction. GMC has had some truly spectacular vehicles in its long, storied history. Just look at the groundbreaking 1936 GMC Half Ton Pickup that helped usher in a new wave of trucks made for mass consumption, or the 1955 GMC 100 Series Deluxe ST CT208 that basically defines the time period, or the 1988 GMC 1500 Sierra SLE that marked the beginning of the modern era of truck design.
Now, in 2016 we have become spoiled with state of the art technology and world-class craftsmanship in every GMC produced. With all of this saturation of awe-inspiring vehicles, the question of: “which vehicle can claim itself to be the best?” becomes increasingly difficult to answer.
The Denali line of GMC vehicles has leveled the playing field across the board by uniformly incorporating the company’s newest technologies and convenience features in almost all of their models. Continue Reading →
The country has been scorching and the summer’s really heating up here in Orange County. The area’s been the grip of several sweltering heat waves, and people are looking to cool off any way they can. So what are some of the many ways you can chill out in OC when the thermometer is ready to blow its top? Here are some suggestions from your friends at Simpson Buick GMC of Buena Park.
Head To A Theme Park – This may be a bit odd to suggest, but you can bet folks will be flocking to Knott’s Soak City Waterpark at Knott’s Berry Farm. A family favorite for splashing, swimming, and all sorts of aquatic fun, Soak City offers cabana rentals and such waterlogged attractions as Banzai Falls, the Laguna Storm Water Tower, and Malibu Run to name a few. And if you trek to Disneyland this summer (yes those pesky relatives are in town again), you can cool off on Pirates of the Caribbean, Grizzly River Run, It’s A Small World, Splash Mountain…well, you get the idea. Just remember: “Dead men tell no tales!”
Lower gas prices and the benefits of more cargo and passenger capacity are but a couple of the reasons why the midsize SUV market is red hot with no signs of cooling off anytime soon.
New Sport Touring Edition Debuts
One of the more popular SUVs in this crowded field is the new 2017 Buick Enclave. The Enclave blends practicality, luxury, performance, and advanced safety features in a refined and elegant package. The 2017 version adds a new Sport Touring Edition that’s distinguished by a new Satin Black ice-toned “waterfall” grille, a new “ice blue” interior, three new color choices, and bespoke 20″ chrome cast aluminum sport wheels with Satin Black accents. Otherwise, the 2017 Enclave remains largely unchanged from the 2016 model. After all, why mess with success?

Lucky for you, we put our collective, fatherly heads together here at your local Orange County Buick GMC dealership, Simpson Buick GMC of Buena Park, and come up with a list of surefire, blockbuster, and sensational ideas for Father’s Day 2016 in Orange County that your dad is sure to love.

Watch the news on any given evening and you might hear stories like “The Dangers of GMOs” or “What’s in Your Dinner Tonight Might Just Kill You.” Now hopefully what was in your dinner tonight did not actually end up killing you, but we’re at a point in our society where we have become hyper-aware of every single health hazard or endangerment of our well being.
People protest pesticides, consumerism, and animal rights. They march for positive body image, equal wages, and religious freedom, and rightfully so. When people feel that their rights or their life are in danger, they try to take action and do something about it. One cause that doesn’t receive nearly enough attention is distracted driving, and the explanation as to why is simple.
Although distracted driving is responsible for around 5,000 deaths every year according to AAAFoundation.com, there are no social movements, protests or marches dedicated to fixing the problem. To us here at Simpson Buick GMC of Buena Park, your preferred new GMC dealer in Buena Park, California, the reason is clear. Nobody is standing up against one of the most common killers of teen drivers in America because almost everyone has been guilty of distracted driving at some point in their lives and many drive while distracted on a daily basis.
