Here at Performance Chevrolet, we know how to appreciate a good firework show, and luckily Sacramento and the surrounding areas has plenty of them to offer. The 4th of July falls on a Saturday this year, so many displays run for the entire weekend, allowing you to visit more than one display, or make a weekend trip to one of the displays further from the city. These firework displays are the perfect way to celebrate our Nation’s Independence, no matter which one you choose, you can’t go wrong!
Placer County, Lake Tahoe
This firework show is a fairly far from downtown Sacramento, about two hours to be exact, but is one of our favorite 4th of July destinations in all of California. Placer County knows how to do Independence Day weekend right, hosting fireworks and a beach party on King’s Beach starting Friday July 3rd, and continuing around Lake Tahoe for the whole weekend.
Featuring food and drinks, a costume contest, sandcastle building, and capping off with a firework display right on the beach, this 4th of July celebration will be a blast. Saturday will feature what promises to be Tahoe City’s largest firework display yet on Commons beach. For Details, check out Placer County’s website here.
Raley Field, Downtown Sacramento
Home to the Sacramento River Cats (the San Francisco Giant’s Triple-A affiliate), Raley Field will once again open its doors to the public for a memorable Independence Day celebration.
2015 will mark the 3rd annual “Fourth on the Field” as Raley Field plays host to food trucks, live music, games for the kids, and an exciting firework show right in the heart of downtown. Set up your blankets and lawn chairs in the middle of the field and enjoy the fireworks with the entire family.
Carmichael Park, Carmichael
The Carmichael Elk Club’s 4th of July parade and firework display is a timeless Sacramento tradition as it has been continued for 57 years straight. The parade starts at 10:30 AM, and family friendly activities continue all day until the firework show at about 9:30 PM, or whenever the sun sets behind the beautiful city of Sacramento.
Hagan Park, Rancho Cordova
What better way to celebrate America’s Independence than watching fireworks on the American River while listening to live music? That’s what Rancho Cordova has been offering the citizens of Sacramento for over 20 years now, and the only thing that could possibly be more American, is if you pulled up in a classic American muscle car, like the 2015 Chevy Camaro.
Rancho Cordova boasts one of the best firework shows in Northern California while hosting various carnival rides and booths, a BMX show, and enough food, drinks, and activities to keep you blissfully occupied all day long.
Cal Expo, East Sacramento
Home to Sacramento’s state fair, Raging Waters Water Park, and a horse racing track, Cal Expo is a great place to spend your 4th of July. Offering up “the largest-scale pyrotechnics display in the area’s history”, Cal Expo’s firework show is a must see event.
Cal Expo partners with Sacramento County every year to host plenty of music and family friendly activities to go along with the incredible fire-works display.
