It’s March Madness again! The bad news is that many first- and second-round NCAA Tourney games are played during the workday, leaving you checking the scores rather than watching the buzzer beaters.
So, what’s the good news? We no longer have to call in sick or schedule a vasectomy just to catch the action. There are a bunch of Denville bars that play all the games, as well as numerous streaming stations you can watch on your phone or computer–at least until the boss walks by. Here’s how you can watch 2018 March Madness in Denville without staying on the couch.
Best Denville Bars for March Madness
Zagursky’s Bar and Grill in Whippany can be described as a cozy dive bar, but it offers a great menu and several TVs for viewing NCAA games. Wings, burgers, pizza, sandwiches and a full bar await your crew. Zagursky’s may not appear to be much from the outside, but people love to come back time and again because of the ambiance and friendly staff. If you live near Parsippany-Troy or Morristown, you may already know this.
Sharky’s Wings and Raw Bar in Boonton was rated one of the best sports bars in New Jersey. They offer a very affordable lunch menu and plenty of televisions to watch the games. During Sharky’s Happy Hour, you can enjoy 70-cent wings and 60-cent clams, which can be washed down with a Sharky’s signature beer tower. Bring your work pals for an extended lunch at one of New Jersey’s favorite pubs.
Sometimes you can’t beat old-reliable. You know what to expect when you visit Buffalo Wild Wings, and the one on US Hwy 46 in Parsippany-Troy is a great place to grub, have a beer, and indulge in some March Madness. Perfect for lunch or after work, the wings and beer run rampant and the action is always roaring.
Rockaway River Barn offers a great lunch and dinner menu with more options than the usual bar fare. You will find a Dutch mac n’ cheese, littleneck clams, Asian dumplings, pulled pork nachos and much more. With TVs around the dining room and ample seating at the bar, Rockaway River Barn may be the best carpool destination to feed your carload and enjoy March Madness games near Denville.
Never Miss a Game by Streaming March Madness
Whether you are following your team, keeping up with the workplace March Madness bracket, or simply cannot get enough of the NCAA Tourney, several apps are must-haves for catching every game this year.
All 67 games of the 2018 NCAA Basketball Tournament will be covered by CBS Sports and Turner Sports. To ensure you do not miss any, you will want to have TNT, CBS Sports, TBS and truTV apps available on your smartphone. Just be ready to log into these sites online.
Another option for catching games if you are away from a TV is to utilize a broadcasting box, such as the Slingbox, which allows you to live-stream your premium channels from your home TV, via the web, to your personal laptop or smartphone. To ensure you have this capability, you will need to set up the Slingbox in your home and use their app. The Slingbox is available in a few different models and at different prices varying from $150 to $300.
Get Away from Work & Watch Games with Friends
We wait all season for the NCAA Basketball Tournament, only to see it vanish in a few weeks’ time. Make sure to enjoy every minute of the action with your buddies and work colleagues. Load up your Nissan Pathfinder or Murano and carpool the gang to a nearby lunch spot or an after-work hangout for some March Madness.
The Nissan Murano offers a fantastic driving experience from front to back. Having received many awards for comfort and dependability, the 2018 Murano is one of the best mid-sized crossover SUVs in its class and price range. Plus, it’s incredibly affordable! If you need more room, the 2018 Pathfinder will comfortably seat seven passengers. This full-size SUV is a pleasure to drive and is incredibly fuel-efficient, too. View our selection of new Nissan models for sale or contact our Nissan World of Denville staff at (973) 343-5004 to discuss your financing or leasing options.
(Or, if you’d rather be a curmudgeon this March Madness, just stay at your desk and type away while everyone else enjoys the fun. Party pooper.)
