Introducing the 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500!

Rugged, hard-working, dependable, long-lasting: these are some of the words Silverado 1500 owners have used to describe Chevy’s pickup truck. And the 2018 Silverado, which recently hit our Overland Park dealership floors, promises to live up to that legacy, and then some! What’s so good about the new 2018 Chevy Silverado, you ask? Read on to find out.

Tons of Silverado 1500 Options

When opting for the Chevrolet 1500, you’ll get to choose between several powerful engines, rear-wheel or 4-wheel drive, three different bed lengths (5.5′, 6.5′ and 8′), and three cab sizes (regular, double and crew). The Silverado comes with optional packages like the cool black “Midnight Edition” and the Z71 “Off Road Edition.”

If you need assistance picking the right layout, our sales team is here to help—just ask when visiting our Chevy dealership near Kansas City.

The Inside Story

The 2018 Silverado’s cabin is nicely laid out, with ample storage space and immaculately textured surfaces. Upgrades bring even posher materials, as the top-of-the-line Silverado 1500 High Country “lays on the luxury nice and thick,” according to Kelley Blue Book reviewers.

New standard features include a backup camera and a tire-fill alert that honks the horn to tell you when you’ve reached the ideal PSI. Plus, the Silverado’s AM/FM stereo and MyLink infotainment system is now displayed on a new 7-inch screen. Yay for 21st-gen technology!

Tops in Power & Towing Performance

Depending on whether your priority is fuel economy, power, or a little of both, you’ll find just the right engine underneath the Silverado’s rugged hood.

  • The base engine, a 4.3-liter Eco Tec3 V6, leads the class in fuel economy (18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway).
  • A 5.3-liter V8, which offers more power than the Eco Tec3, saddles the line between “powerful get-upper” and “gas-sipper.”
  • A 6.2 liter V8, providing all the go-get-’em power you could want in a Toyota truck.

The first two engines are paired with a standard 6-speed automatic transmission, while the larger 6.2-liter V8 is mated to an 8-speed automatic. And you can rest assured that you’ll have all four wheels turning as all three engines can be ordered as a Silverado 4WD.

Need great hauling and towing capacity? Order a 2018 Silverado Crew Cab with NHT max towing capacity, and you can tow up to 12,500 lbs., which happens to beat all rivals in its class, including the Ford F-150 and Dodge Ram. Payload capacity is up to 2,250 lbs., too!

2018 Silverado Standard Features

The new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 offers plenty of standard features in its base WT model (short for work truck), including:

  • air conditioning;
  • power windows;
  • cruise control;
  • AM/FM audio system;
  • auxiliary jack and SD card;
  • USB ports;
  • “Teen Driver” safe driving system;
  • projector beam headlights and LED accents;
  • and a rear bumper corner step cut-out for easier access to the bed.

Choose the High Country model, and you’ll get a tough truck with the plush interior of a high-end luxury car, including upgraded leather upholstery, navigation, Apple CarPlay, a premium audio system and so much more!

Safety is Priority One

The Silverado 1500 comes standard with 6 airbags, a rearview camera, and a high-strength steel safety cage, but there are also available active safety features like:

  • low-speed forward automatic braking;
  • lane-keep assist with lane departure warning;
  • forward collision alert;
  • safety alert driver’s seat;
  • and front and rear park assist feature.

The 2018 Silverado has even earned a five-star overall crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which is one of very few trucks to ever accomplish such a feat.

The Silverado: Reliability Confirmed!

There’s no denying that Chevy knows how to build a great pickup truck — they’ve been doing it for 100 years now. The 2018 Chevrolet Silverado is part of a generation that consistently earns excellent predicted reliability ratings from J.D Power and Associates, and the experts at Kelley Blue Book expect the 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 to “hold its value well in the years ahead.” Buying a 2018 Silverado now will pay dividends for years to come.
