The Legendary 2018 Chevy Corvette is Fierce & Available Now!

Corvette owners are in an exclusive club–one whose members expect the highest performance money can buy. The Corvette legacy began with the iconic Corvette Stingray in 1953 and has since become one of the most legendary American-made powerhouses. While the 2017 Corvette may be a tough act to follow (with a Consumer Reports owner satisfaction rating of “excellent”), the 2018 ‘Vette is sure to exceed the expectations of even the most demanding high-performance drivers.

At McCarthy-Morse Chevrolet, we’re also ready to continue that legacy by welcoming the all-new 2018 Chevrolet Corvette into our showroom. Come see the prestige, the power, the perfection at our car dealership in Overland Park, and you’ll see why we’re so excited to have it join our Chevy family.

Zero to Sixty in 3.7 Seconds

Homegrown performance in a stylish two-seater has been the reason for the Corvette’s success ever since designer Harley Earl dreamed up the concept and unveiled the first Corvette at GM’s Motorama in 1953. The 2018 Corvette continues to fulfill that original objective even now, 65 years later.

The heart of the 2018 Corvette Stingray is the 6.2L V-8 engine, providing 460HP for incredible bursts of acceleration. Therefore, the driver’s side of the Corvette interior is referred to as “the cockpit.” With 460 ponies available on demand, you’re not just stepping on the gas, you’re also unleashing a thoroughbred packed with the latest technology designed to push the car over the boundary between “high performance” and “modern convenience.”

Active Rev Matching

This premier technology sends a signal from the seven-speed manual transmission to the engine controller for maximum RPM control, which eliminates the need for heel-toe shifting. For those looking to emphasize Corvette’s luxury without losing its high-performance roots, 8-speed paddle shifters are also available with the automatic transmission.

No matter your choice in transmission, accelerating the aerodynamically refined Corvette from 0 to 60 is an experience similar to igniting the afterburners on a fighter jet—hence the term “cockpit.” You don’t merely “drive” a Corvette: you strap in and go.

Get a Grip

Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP tires ensure that you’ll keep that rocketing Stingray pointed where you want it to go. High-performance Brembo brakes are standard for precision stopping power at all speeds. Synergized together, the tires and brakes help to maximize the Corvette’s cornering capability.

Aluminum frame parts with carbon-composite underpanels combine to result in a nearly 50/50 weight balance and a highly improved power-weight ratio. See the Z51 performance package upgrades below for more high-performance suspension and traction enhancements.

Build the Ultimate Corvette (Z51 Performance Package)

The Z51 Performance package upgrades are available for both coupe and convertible configurations.

  • Performance Exhaust – 4” polished stainless steel tips top off the high-performance exhaust system, giving the Z51 Corvette an aggressive sound along with a significant boost in horsepower for the driver who wants to maximize power.
  • Battery Protection Package – Chevrolet’s Corvette engineers understand some Corvette owners keep their cherished Stingrays at low mileage, saving them for weekend drives or special occasions. The Battery Protection Package protects the battery and keeps it in optimal condition when the Corvette has been parked for long periods of time. The device plugs into a 12-volt port (found in the cargo area) and connects to any convenient 115V outlet at the supply end. It’s the perfect accessory for cold storage in Kansas City or long-term parking situations.
  • Magnetic Selective Ride Control with Performance Traction Management – The Corvette’s Driver Mode Selector enables performance mode to be adjusted from the cockpit, which stiffens suspension for tight cornering in track conditions. Five separate settings of torque reduction and brake intervention facilitate maximum traction for driver confidence at all desired performance levels.
  • Electronic Limited Slip Differential (ELSD) – Every pilot needs a co-pilot. The Corvette ELSD system precisely adjusts differential engagement for high-speed control, performance-grade driving, and evasive maneuvering. Stability and control are maintained without affecting how the car handles.

Performance Inside the Cockpit

When Corvettes are the topic of discussion, performance understandably dominates the conversation, so it’s easy to overlook the luxury aspect of the Corvette legacy, but you really shouldn’t!

The Stingray’s interior features a thoroughly ergonomic design with heated and ventilated competition sport seats. An 8″ diagonal LCD display provides driver feedback on g-forces and tire temperatures. The performance data recorder keeps a log of driving sessions so you can analyze and refine your technique. A 4G-LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, coupled with the Chevrolet MyLink touchscreen system, allows you to send and receive texts, play music, and more.
