KC Restaurant Week

Date & Time: January 13th – 22nd
Location: Participating Restaurants in Kansas City

The 8th annual Restaurant Week winter event spans ten days and offers KC visitors and residents a taste of some of the area’s best cuisine. Multi-course dinner and lunch meals are available for purchase, and proceeds will benefit local Kansas City charities. Eat well and do good by your community.

U.S. Figure Skating Championships

Date & Time: January 19th – 22nd
Location: Sprint Center (1407 Grand Blvd., Kansas City)

The best and most graceful skaters of our time will have a Lutz-off at this year’s U.S. Figure Skating event, which culminates with an epic championship weekend that is sure to score some 10s (or high-9s). The winning adult and youth skaters will potentially represent the United States at the World Figure Skating Championships, so do your patriotic duty and cheer them on!

LEGOLAND 2017 All-Star Building Challenge

Figure skaters have nothing on these nimble-fingered architects! Hosted by KC’s LEGOLAND, participating Master Model Builders between the ages of 5 and 15 will compete to determine who’s the next Michelangelo of the LEGO kingdom.

Special Olympics Polar Plunge

Date & Time: January 28th (Time TBD)
Location: Longview Lake Beach (64149 Pittenger Rd., Kansas City)

This frigid event isn’t for the faint of heart; it’s for the truly brave, the people who can put mind over matter for a good cause. Can you dive into the icy waters of Longview Lake, in the dead of winter, or will you just be an observer? Proceeds from the Polar Plunge will benefit the Special Olympics of Missouri’s program for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Chinese New Year Festival

Location: The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (4525 Oak St., Kansas City)

It’s the Year of the Rooster, and to celebrate, the Nelson-Atkins Museum will host its 21st annual Chinese New Year Festival. Featured performances and activities include a choreographed Chinese ballet dance, Yo-Yo demonstration, traditional Chinese music, acrobatics, and a fashion show.

Winter Jam Tour Spectacular

Date & Time: January 29th (5:00 PM)
Location: Sprint Center (1407 Grand Blvd., Kansas City)

As one of the country’s largest tours, Winter Jam sill make its annual stop in Kansas City at the end of January, and you shouldn’t miss it. Artists performing in this highly anticipated show include Crowder, Colton Dixon, Sadie Robertson, and more. Doors open at 5:00 PM to the exciting Pre-Jam Party, which will be followed by the main acts at 6:00. And admission is just $10!


Monster Jam


Date & Time: February 3rd – 5th
Location: Sprint Center (1407 Grand Blvd., Kansas City)

Revving, roaring, and rumbling their way through KC this February, the trucks from Monster Jam aren’t on display like the cars in our Chevy showroom, but they are ready to display their off-roading prowess. Bring the kids for an evening full of Monster Truck donuts, wheelies, races, and perhaps some earth-shattering jumps that even Evil Knievel would be jealous of.

The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show

Date & Time: February 11th (6:00 PM)
Location: Crown Plaza (1301 Wyandotte St., Kansas City)

You don’t have to be Angela Lansbury to solve a dramatic murder mystery. Instead, just visit The Dinner Detective in Kansas City to take part in an interactive version of Murder, She Wrote. Can you solve the riddles, decipher the codes, and get over the campy dialogue to identify the perp? (Here’s a hint: It’s probably not the butler, in the billiards hall, with a rope.)

Breakfast with the Beasts

Date & Time: February 18th (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
Location: Lakeside Nature Center (4701 E Gregory Blvd., Kansas City)

Although it may sound like a spinoff to the Harry Potter series, Breakfast with the Beasts is its own magical adventure without wizards or He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named. Hosted by Kansas City’s Lakeside Nature Center, this winter event allows kids to learn about and interact with the animals by sharing their first meal of the day.




Date & Time: February 18th – 19th
Location: Sprint Center (1407 Grand Blvd., Kansas City)

Races don’t get any better or more extreme than those featuring Motocross bikes. Returning to KC on February 18th, the world’s fearless racers will compete, perform tricks, and entertain the crowd. If you’re in the mood for a high-flying and in-your-face spectacle, check out Arenacross.
