The 2017 Chevy Sonic: A Not-So-Small Subcompact

There’s a false belief that small cars are only built for two, that their cramped cabins are inhospitable environments for groups. Now, with the new 2017 Sonic making its mark on the world, that myth has finally been debunked—thankfully. Take a look at this month’s featured Chevrolet model below to discover all the reasons why the 2017 Chevy Sonic is revolutionizing the subcompact market.

Impeccable Style in Sedan or Hatchback Form

The 2017 Sonic’s litter includes three primary trims.

The Sonic LS comes available with a manual or automatic transmission. Its splashes of exterior style come from standard and optional features like 15” wheels, LED headlights, molded splash guards, and a roof rack with cross rails. Inside, the 2017 Sonic LS comes with a standard four-speaker audio system with USB connectors, deluxe instrument panel in Jet Black, Sports Cloth seat trim, and all-season carpeted floor mats. The 2017 Chevrolet Impala: What the Critics Say

The Chevy Impala is certainly one of the most enduring full-size sedans in the market. Now in its tenth generation—which is amazing in and of itself—the 2017 Chevrolet Impala still hasn’t shown its wrinkles. In fact, Chevy has done a good job of adding a dash of freshness to a model that kicked off its claim to fame around the same time Eisenhower became president. It offers a seriously impressive combo of roominess, sophisticated style, and handling, all of which make it one of the best cars for the money.

But don’t just take the McCarthy word at face value. Here are some critics’ thoughts about the Impala, a sedan so distinguished it borders on being a national treasure.

The Impala Looks Good in a Suit

“Today’s Impala is sexy [and] there’s a bit of Mercedes CLS in its rear quarters…” – Marty Padgett, The Car Connection Continue Reading →

The 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500: As Rugged as Ever

There are only a few things more iconic in America than Chevrolet’s most popular pickup, though none of them come close to the distinguished presentation of the 2017 Silverado 1500. With a bevy of new features and style choices, this year’s Silverado is ready to make its rivals shake in their boots—and at your Chevy dealership near Independence, MO, McCarthy Chevrolet Lee’s Summit, we’re glad to be in its corner. Let’s see what comes with the now-available 2017 Silverado 1500, shall we?

2017 Chevy Silverado

What’s New in the 2017 Silverado?

Chevy put its newest half-ton behemoth under a bright spotlight thanks to a series of updates, changes, and newly added features.

On the outside, the Silverado sports a few alterations. First, the Silverado does away with three color choices that were available across the 2016 model (Slate Grey, Tungsten, and Autumn Breeze Metallic, in case you were wondering). In its place, you’ll find two metallic colors: Graphite and Pepperdust. Standard all-season blackwall tires and a capless fuel port are also new.

The High Country Premium Package has been deleted in 2017, though the High Country Silverado now includes some of its lost features, including IntelliBeam headlamps, power adjustable pedals, a heated steering wheel, and Enhanced Driver Alerts. Continue Reading →

2017 Chevy Malibu vs. Ford Fusion: Midsize Marvels Face Off

With quality sedans like the Chevy Malibu and Ford Fusion, it’s no surprise the midsize segment has some of the fiercest competition in the industry. Having modern features and adopted styles that mirror best-selling SUVs, midsize cars are quickly gaining traction again thanks to these line-leaders in the march toward regained dominance. What makes the 2017 Chevy Malibu and its rival Ford Fusion two of the top commanders in this endeavor to retake the automotive market? Let’s find out how they compare in a friendly Malibu vs. Fusion skirmish.

The Malibu Handles & Performs Brilliantly

As was the case with last year’s model, the 2017 Chevy Malibu comes available in four trims: L, LS, LT, and Premier, with the Premier trim sitting at the head of the table. Also carried over is a longer wheelbase and more rear passenger space. Several new stylings and flourishes have been added—18-inch aluminum wheels, all-season tires, and more—but where the 2017 Malibu overpowers its rival Fusion lies under its striking hood. 8. Tiny Apparitions = Big Scares

Nothing frightens us more than the unknown and unseen. When the unseen involves child-sized phantoms who seem to float all willy-nilly, that’s where the line between frightening and terrifying is drawn.

What you’ll need:

This one may look complicated, but it’s much easier than you’d expect. First, position the doll outside in a super-creepy way; sitting on a ledge, staring into the corner, crawling on all fours—any position works, really. Then wrap the sheet or fabric around the doll to add a sinister effect and spray the bejeezus out of it with fabric stiffener. Let it dry for a few hours in the sun, remove the doll, and carefully move the ghostly figure into place. You’ll scare even strong-willed adults if done well. Continue Reading →

2017 Chevy Camaro: 50 Years of Legendary Performance on Display

When the Camaro was first introduced 50 years ago, it became an instant sensation. Back in 1966, the thought of a high-performance, two-door sports car at a relatively affordable price was somewhat of a novel idea. But the then-new Camaro put the pedal to the metal and soon started to leave competitors like the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger in its rearview mirror.

Fast-forward a half-century and witness the evolution of an icon. The new sixth-generation 2017 Camaro celebrates the marque’s 50th Anniversary with a smaller, lighter, and agiler iteration that doesn’t just push the envelope but shreds it. And at McCarthy Chevrolet of Lee’s Summit, we’re happy to add such exquisite class to our inventory. Come test drive a 2017 Camaro at our Lee’s Summit Chevy dealership.

The Best-Looking Camaro Ever

Perhaps the best-looking model in its storied 50-year history, the new 2017 Camaro’s sculpted body line features a more aerodynamic fastback silhouette, pronounced quarter panels, bulging hood creases, and a unique “reverse Mohawk” channel running the length of the Camaro’s fluidly flowing roofline. From its aggressive front fascia, brilliant available LED-framed headlights, and characteristic rear haunches with an available stanchion spoiler, the new 2017 Camaro for sale at McCarthy Chevrolet Lee’s Summit is lean, mean, and ready to dominate the street. This is one bad boy with a sophisticated style, aggressive countenance, and cat-like grace that grabs your attention and doesn’t let go. Continue Reading →
