Ready to get into the spirit of America’s birthday? The Fourth of July is one holiday that should be celebrated to its fullest, which is why Kansas City hosts many Independence Day events for everyone to enjoy. Here are 4 of the top places to catch the July 4th fireworks in Kansas City this year.
If you’re a baseball lover, then the home of the Royals is definitely one of the best places to be on the 4th of July in KC. This is a fun-filled 4th of July you can easily enjoy with friends and family. If you are bringing the kids along, there’s also the children’s activity area where they can stay occupied. There’s even an area with batting cages, a carousel, mini golf, and a park! This is the best way to keep the kiddos entertained until the spectacular fireworks display.
Get your tickets at Kauffman Stadium, and you get to watch the game, enjoy specially-priced Happy Hour drinks, watch a live performance by Hi-Lux, and see the fireworks after the 9th inning.
Scarritt Renaissance Neighborhood 4th of July Celebration
This is public, free 4th of July event in Kansas City hosted at Concourse Park. There will be face painting, bubbles, lawn games, and balloon artists, so it will be great fun for the kids, especially with the park open for them to play with their friends! Should it happen to be hot this Independence Day, let them splash around the Concourse Fountain, which will be on. The best part for everyone: Food trucks and a laser light show to end it all!
Carry along a blanket or some camping chairs for the family, and enjoy a wonderful evening in Kansas City this July 4.
Celebrate the 4th of July overlooking the water at KC RiverFest! Some even say it is the best firework display in Kansas City, so there’s no reason to miss it. There’s enough here for everyone, including kid-friendly activities, live music, and food vendors. While you are not able to bring in any outside food or drinks, you can enjoy the plentiful food vendors where refreshing beverages will also be served.
Be sure to bring along your lawn chairs and blankets and, since this Independence Day event in Kansas City is located by the water, you might also consider bug repellant. There is limited parking here, so prepare to take the shuttle, which is the most reliable and stress-free mode of transportation to the event. (However, there is limited and handicap accessible parking nearby, should you need it.)
Red, White & Blue Springs
This is a free 4th of July event in Blue Springs held at the Blue Springs High School Peve Stadium. There will be live entertainment by Michael Dale and Monica Pearce, followed by the Blue Springs fireworks show to end all fireworks shows! The concession stand will be open, but you are welcome to bring your own snacks.
Don’t forget a blanket and/or lawn chairs, and be sure to check that the weather is not going to lead to a cancellation of the event, in which case it will be held the next day, July 5.
