You Must See the All-New 2018 Chevy Traverse!

If you’re in the market for a great family-friendly vehicle, you owe it to yourself to test drive the all-new 2018 Traverse at McCarthy Chevrolet Lee’s Summit. Why?

The newest Traverse is a minivan in SUV form, with three rows of seats to accommodate up to 8 people, ample head and leg room, and multiple cabin configurations to ensure all trips are easy to pack for. In fact, Car and Driver even notes that the new Traverse’s cabin is “…impressive considering the 2017 Traverse had one of the most spacious cabins in its class.” Add on an enormous hidden storage compartment beneath the rear cargo area, and you’ve got a remarkable vehicle no matter its class.

Let’s take a closer look at what the 2018 Traverse brings to the table.

Exterior Styling & Interior Comfort

The new Traverse looks like its big brother Tahoe, only a bit slimmer. Looks can be deceiving, however, as the Traverse actually has a longer wheelbase than the Tahoe, believe it or not. Fit and trimmed down, the new Traverse also looks athletically gifted, as well.

Besides having a roomy cabin, the 2018 Traverse also offers family-friendly conveniences like a folding 2nd-row seat for easy access to the third row. Add in a larger and brighter infotainment screen and an available full-color display that sits between the main gauges, plus available options like 4G LTE Wi-Fi from OnStar, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and this Chevy SUV is about as good as it gets.

Power to Spare

The Traverse’s 3.6-liter V-6 engine provides plenty of power — 360 HP, to be exact — and its 9-speed automatic transmission feels, as Kelly Blue Book reviewer Keith Buglewicz states, “just right.” The Traverse comes standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available if you want it, depending on which trim level you choose. Buglewicz praises the Traverse even further, calling the overall driving experience “top of its class,” making this Chevy SUV a powerhouse, no matter its drivetrain.

Traverse Trim Levels

With the 2018 Traverse, you get a choice of 11 trim levels, each of which is packaged with optional features such as leather seats, a rear-view camera, LED daytime running lamps, hands-free gesture liftgate, and more. And as you’d expect from Chevy, there is a host of safety options available, including:

  • Surround vision
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Intellibeam headlamps (that automatically switch high beams on and off when certain driving conditions are met)
  • Teen driver technology
  • Rear-seat reminder (cues you to check the back seat before exiting the vehicle to eliminate the possibility of forgetting a child, pet, or ice cream)
  • Automated emergency braking
  • Forward collision alert

The Traverse has great towing capacity, too, so you can feel confident hauling around whatever your trip needs, such as small motorboats, an ATV, or camper.
