Time to Utilize the GM College Discount Program for Graduates

It’ll take plenty of time and patience to find your place in the world after graduating. Friends will come and go, apartments will be moved in and out of, and you’ll sometimes forget to feed the cat (whoops)—all before you find solid ground. But to discover such a place you’ll first have to venture out and explore the possibilities.

GM College Discount Program

Thanks to the GM College Discount Program, you can take to that adventure inside a brand-new, reliable, and totally affordable set of wheels. McCarthy Chevrolet Lee’s Summit, a renowned Chevy dealer near Kansas City, is ready to help you on your way.

Let’s Talk Moolah

This is the important part, right?

Let’s say your first career opportunity landed you here, in the heart of Kansas City, home to realbarbecue and jazz music. You’ve made it, you’ve earned your status as an adult, even after all the past Ramen-fueled study sessions left you dazed and dehydrated. Not bad.

Now let’s say you get your first paycheck. You want to spend it on 100 packages of noodles, but the clunk of metal you call your car is asking to be put out of its misery. So you start searching for a car dealership near Kansas City that can help. That’s where McCarthy Chevrolet in Lee’s Summit and the GM College Discount Program come into play.

Taking advantage of this program means you’re rewarded with a significant discount on the purchase or lease of select 2017 and 2016 Chevrolet models, as well as Buick and GMC vehicles. In fact, graduates can earn discounts in the thousands off of MSRPs!

What makes this program so enticing is the fact that it can be used in tandem with most current offers on 2016 and 2017 vehicles. Whether you decide to use a GM Rewards Card or any of our other Kansas City car specials to buy or lease a new car, the combined savings add up.

Although you may work with any financial institution, if you decide to purchase or lease a vehicle through GM Financial, you may even be qualified for an APR as low as 0%. After a credit evaluation, well-qualified buyers can also defer payments for up to 90 days on new purchases (not leased vehicles).

A Rundown of the “Other” Details & How to Qualify

To qualify as an eligible participant, you’ll need to show our dealership the following pieces of documentation:

  1. Proof that you have graduated from a two- or four-year university within the last two years, or are currently enrolled in school as a graduate or nursing student.
  2. An authorization number (and financing approval through GM Financial, if applicable).

To receive an authorization number, register an account at gmcollegediscount.com, select “Program” on the home page, then “GM College Discount” from the top navigation. There you’ll see an “Obtain Authorization” link. Simply follow the prompts and print out the authorization code before heading into our Chevy dealership in Lee’s Summit. Authorization numbers expire after 90 days.

You can also build and price a vehicle to see the final cost including all discounts. We suggest visiting our dealership to test drive the eligible vehicle first.

Select 2017 and 2016 Chevy, GM, and Buick models are eligible to be purchased or leased with this discount; the list of models can be viewed here.

All purchased vehicles must be retained for at least six months per GM’s rules and guidelines.

Participants can purchase or lease up to two vehicles per year using this program.
