Chevrolet Announces the 2019 Silverado at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show

Chevrolet kicked things off at the 2018 NAIAS event with its official introduction of the all-new 2019 Chevy Silverado, which is an astounding 450 pounds lighter than its predecessor thanks to the ingenious use of mixed materials — steel and aluminum, specifically. That translates into better fuel efficiency.

Another first? The 2019 Silverado will be available with a Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine (options for the Silverado 1500 HD and Silverado medium-duty, which will be revealed in March). Two other engines will also be available — 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s with industry-first technology that can disable up to seven cylinders when not needed, which would significantly improve fuel efficiency.

But power isn’t all the 2019 Silverado has.

The newest Traverse is a minivan in SUV form, with three rows of seats to accommodate up to 8 people, ample head and leg room, and multiple cabin configurations to ensure all trips are easy to pack for. Let’s take a closer look at what the 2018 Traverse brings to the table.
