When it comes to driving a truck that gets the job done, there’s one pickup that does it: the Chevy Silverado HD. Rugged style, superhuman strength, interior and exterior finesse—what’s not to love about the Silverado?
The 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 and 3500 trucks will be engineered and designed to complete the most demanding of tasks and the most overwhelming of jobs, guaranteed–and they’ll both be available for sale and lease at our Olathe Chevy dealership later this year.
“Truck customers are very clear: They want the perfect truck for them and not a ‘one size fits most’ truck compromised for the masses,” said Mike Simcoe, vice president of Global Design at General Motors. “That insight shaped our strategy for the next-generation Silverado franchise, providing customers more differentiation between the Silverado 1500 and the Silverado HD as well as more personalization and differentiation between individual trim levels.”
Let’s explore this new pickup in greater depth and discover how it will exceed your driving expectations.
What’s the Towing Capacity of the New Chevrolet Silverado?
There are significant differences between the 2019 Chevy Silverado HD and the 2020 Chevy Silverado HD.
According to Autotrader: “…the new gas engine in the Silverado HD is a 6.6-liter V8 which makes 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. That’s an 11 percent boost in power and a 22 percent increase in peak torque compared to the outgoing 6.0-liter V8. The result is 18 percent higher towing capacity at a maximum of 17,400 pounds.”
Plus, for really aggressive towing, the 2020 Silverado’s new Duramax 6.6L turbo-diesel V8 looks to be a bona fide charmer. It makes 445 horsepower and 910 pound-foot of torque – the highest Chevy Silverado horsepower and torque ever – allowing it to tow a best-in-class 35,500 pounds. (When married to the all-new Allison 10-speed, the Silverado HD gets a 52% boost in towing capacity over the outgoing Silverado.)
As a dependable vehicle with legendary Duramax power, the 2020 Chevy Silverado is the most capable truck in the HD segment. The 2020 Chevy Silverado HD comes complete with a cast-iron engine block for durability, and direct injection and variable valve timing.
The 2020 Chevy Silverado has a modern look and numerous grille options from which to choose, based on the truck’s trim. There is significantly more legroom for backseat passengers, as well as more interior storage and cubbies.
