Help Us Reach Our Goal
This is your opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child stricken with life-threatening diseases such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, renal failure, or cystic fibrosis. During this special sales event, we will donate $10 for every new or pre-owned vehicle sold at our 7 McCarthy Auto Group dealerships throughout Kansas City to this most worthy cause. By purchasing a new 2016 Chevrolet car, minivan, or one of our excellent used cars for sale in Kansas City, you’ll help us to achieve our goal of selling 2000 cars by the end of August.
Inspiring Stories of Courageous Kids
Make-A-Wish Missouri is part of the nation’s most well-known and established wish-granting organization. The goal of Make-A-Wish Missouri is to serve the local community by granting wishes for special children, bringing them joy, happiness, strength, and hope. Last year, the organization granted 320 wishes to deserving children. Doctors agree that these positive experiences can help their patients feel better both emotionally and physically, giving them strength and renewed hope to fight their disease. That’s why wishes matter.
The children who are helped by Make-A-Wish Missouri are courageous. They inspire us with their smiles, positive attitudes, and remarkable strength as they battle deadly diseases. They are literally in a fight for their lives. By granting a special wish, these precious children can escape the often debilitating effects of medical treatment.
Kids like Isai, age 6, from Kansas City, who dreamed of being a superhero. Bravely battling lymphoblastic leukemia, Isai did battle with another foe, the “evil” KCCucaracha. Sporting KC, the world champion Kansas City Royals, Legoland, and Adventureland KC teamed up to make Isai’s wish of becoming “Muchacho de Hierro (Spanish for “Iron Guy”) come true. Dressed in his favorite superhero’s outfit, Isai thwarted KCCucaracha’s efforts to steal a purse from someone dining at a local Bob Evans restaurant. Isai sprang into action and recovered the purse and chased KCCucaracha through Legoland and onto Kauffman Stadium. Isai rescued the Royals’ loveable mascot “Sluggerrr” and together they apprehended the dastardly KCCucaracha. Kansas City is saved!
Isai’s heartwarming story of a dream come true is just one example of how Make-A-Wish Missouri is brightening the lives of children throughout the state. Children like Chance, age 5, suffering from cancer who wished to be a Ninja or Jalisha, age 14, who dreamed of being a police officer for a day.
Then there is little Monica, age 9, who is suffering from thyroid cancer. She wished to be a Disney princess and go to Disney World. Her wish was granted by Make-A-Wish Missouri Wish Granters, who took her to the Make-A-Wish Missouri Golf Classic where she got to dress up as a princess and play games. At dinner, she was surprised by her father, Ben, who dressed up as Prince Charming. He was there to tell her that her wish to go to Disney World was granted. She will be heading to the Magic Kingdom this June on her family’s first vacation and is sure to have a magical time.
