The Detroit Auto Show has come and gone, but it certainly left a lasting impression on our Kansas City car dealership. While most news revolved around the NACOY award-winning Chevy Bolt, we couldn’t help but drool over its future sibling: The 2018 Traverse. This upcoming SUV isn’t shying away from its historical propensity for being a family-first vehicle. Instead, the 2018 Traverse is set to don some new threads to accentuate that image—and, boy, is it all the more handsome for it.
Here’s what to expect from the Traverse when it lands at our Chevrolet dealership near Kansas City sometime this summer.
Two New Traverse Trims
It’s been said that variety is the spice of life, and Chevrolet must have taken that expression to heart when constructing the Traverse. Available in six trims—the base LS, LT, Premier, and High Country models carry over from last year, while the RS and Redline trims are new for 2018—the unreleased Traverse will add some flavor to any spice rack. We’re particularly excited to get our hands on the Traverse Redline, which is set to become the SUV’s flagship model. Continue Reading →

In the span of only a few decades, we’ve seen technology expand into avenues we’d never have imagined. No longer are we enticed by the year’s newest vehicles with 6-CD changers or built-in AUX inputs. In their places are features like on-the-go Wi-Fi, smartphone integration, and improved EV batteries. Oh, and let’s not forget self-driving cars, which were too futuristic to be featured in The Jetsons.
At the helm of this automotive push into the future is Chevrolet, one of America’s most innovative vehicle manufacturers. Current Chevy technology has already put the newest 2016 and 2017 models in the limelight, and with plans to create even more, the future is brighter than ever for the industry. Here are but a few of the newest and upcoming technological advancements that Chevy brings to the table.
Rear Seat Reminder
With growing concerns over infant, toddler, and pet deaths caused by being left in hot cars, Chevy has developed an alert system that reminds drivers to check the rear seat before they exit their vehicles. As the industry’s first safety system, Rear Seat Reminder works by monitoring and activating when it detects the rear doors being utilized. When the vehicle is turned off, five warning chimes will sound, followed by a warning message on the driver information hub, to alert the driver that they should take a look-see in the back seat. As one of the best-selling midsize sedans, the Chevy Malibu recently re-entered the automotive fray with its sharp new 2017 model—and we’re excited to share it with all of Kansas City. With space that rivals even full-size sedans, refined design, and best-in-class fuel efficiency, the 2017 Chevy Malibu should elicit plenty of oohs and aahs from strangers and friends alike. Read below to fall in love with your next new car, and be sure to check for exclusive Chevy incentives here at your local Chevy dealership near Kansas City, Lawrence, and Lenexa, KS.
What’s New, Malibu?
Just a year removed from last year’s complete redesign, the 2017 Malibu adds a 9-speed automatic and Sport package for Premier trims, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the LS and LT models. Chevy dropped the 2LT trim in favor of the upgraded Premier—and the Malibu is all the better for it.
Style, Comfort, & Features: Charming in All the Right Places
What happens when a handsome Impala is merged with a compact Cruze? The result would resemble the 2017 Chevy Malibu, with its long new frame, well-composed cabin, and ample amounts of features.
On the outside, the Malibu mimics the Impala’s size, making good use of its lighter steel body and adding more than two inches of length over the midsize sedan’s last generation. The balanced front-to-back look starts with the roofline—it boldly stretches down into a narrower and lower nose, which features twin grilles split by the Chevy emblem. Sophisticated waves flow along the doors and all the way to the taillights. The trunk lid has a subtle lip, giving the Malibu a more athletic appearance. Continue Reading →
To be successful in the highly competitive compact-car market, a sedan typically must find its niche and sprint toward the finish line. A successful model can corner the market in just one major category, such as price, fuel economy, available features, or comfort. However, true success in this segment means being more than a one-trick pony—it means being versatile and practical enough to resonate with just about every type of driver.
Take the 2016 Chevy Cruze and Ford Focus as prime examples. Both of these compact cars sit at the top of the rankings annually because they deliver on promises of being efficient, roomy, and feature-filled sedans that don’t cost a fortune. Although they can each be qualified as a Jack of all trades, only one can call itself a master of all. Let’s compare these two compact juggernauts and find out which is the segment’s best.
Interior: Mid-size Space in a Compact’s Guise
Understandably, a lack of worthwhile passenger volume is often the deciding factor for drivers considering a sedan. Upon entering the redesigned and impressively distinctive 2016 Chevy Cruze—trim levels include the base L, LS, LT, Premier, and Premier RS—you’ll be welcomed by a warm and roomy cabin that’s far from compact and anything but frugal. Ever wonder where that quoted auto loan interest rate comes from? No, it doesn’t fall from the sky, nor is it pulled out of a magician’s top hat; the interest rate you receive is determined primarily by a few factors:
Your choice in lender/dealership
The make, model, and year of vehicle you intend to finance
The length and terms of your loan
Your credit score
Are you buying a brand-new Chevy car packed with all the bells and whistles, or is a late-model used coupe more in your wheelhouse? Do you feel comfortable paying more monthly for shorter loan-term lengths? Have you had past credit problems you wish would go poof?
No matter your preferences, budget, or previous financial issues, there are a number of ways to obtain low-interest auto financing on your next vehicle. Continue Reading →
In preparation for next year’s full redesign, the 2017 Chevy Equinox is largely unchanged from its 2016 model, though some cosmetic updates, additions, and an all-new trim level put this SUV at the top of its class. What the 2018 model brings to America is still a mystery, but the 2016 Equinox is a marvel in its own right and comes with the same superior level of dependability, affordability, and versatility that Chevrolet is known to engineer.

What’s New on the 2017 Equinox?
This five-door compact crossover looks refreshed in its new appearance, aiming to dazzle and amaze, but what exactly has changed?
Most noticeable is the addition of a new Premier trim level. Replacing the older LTZ trim, the Equinox Premier model is the top-tier choice above the base L, mid-level LS, and sporty LT. The robust yet efficient 182-horsepower 2.4L I4 engine is standard throughout the Equinox lineup and is estimated to mirror last year’s EPA-estimated mileage at 26 mpg combined—which is not too shabby for a FWD SUV. The Equinox Premier and LT models also offer an optional 3.6L V-6 engine that propels the SUV at top speeds with its 301 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque and hits a respectable fuel-efficiency rating of 24 mpg highway.
