2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 vs Ford F-150: Which Truck’s Best?

Together, the F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 prop up the full-size truck segment – they represent a staggering 55% of all U.S. pickup sales – but which model takes the “best in class” trophy?

To get to the bottom of this Silverado vs. F-150 debate, we took a deep dive into both truck’s spec sheets, lists of features, and overall critic ratings. Follow us, friend, and a winner shall be crowned.

Chevy Silverado vs Ford F-150

What’s New?

The 2019 Silverado 1500 enters its fourth generation with a complete revamp. It shed 450 pounds of curb weight yet, surprisingly, increased its dimensions in its cabin and bed. Maximum payload has also increased, which coincides with the inclusion of a new 2.7L turbo-4 engine option. Interior storage areas, including underneath cubbies, have grown, and several ’18 features return as standard fare.

Ford’s F-150 may be the best-selling truck of the two, but its last redesign came in 2015, with a 2018 refresh thrown in the mix. In all, the F-series is lacking the same modern flourishes that help the new Silverado shine.

Silverado vs. F-150: Pricing

Both the Chevy Silverado and F-150 are priced comparably: you can expect to pay about $28,000 for each base model. Continue Reading →

Chevy Safety: Protecting Children From Backover Injuries

In September, tragedy struck our Olathe community as an 18-month-old boy was accidentally backed over and killed in his driveway. But his heartbreaking story is not rare; every week 50-plus children are backed over by vehicles in America.

In an effort to reduce or altogether eliminate these catastrophes, the Department of Transportation mandated a rule that states all new vehicles must be equipped with standard rearview cameras. Chevrolet stepped up to that plate years ago and is now offering even more safety systems to hopefully prevent rollover and backover accidents from occurring.
