Have You Seen the 2018 Chevy Tahoe Yet?

If you’re looking for a powerful, family-friendly workhorse that can handle just about anything you ask of it, then the 2018 Chevy Tahoe is the full-size SUV of your dreams. (Its predecessor, the 2017 Tahoe, was named most dependable large SUV by J.D. Powers, so you know that the new Tahoe will be there for you, too.)

Big, bold and beautiful, the 2018 Tahoe also boasts the best V-8 fuel economy in its class — 23 highway mpg — so you can feel good about driving it from Kansas City to Who-Knows-Where and back again. You can also feel confident about towing your boat, ATV, or camper since the Tahoe’s powerful 5.3L V-8 can haul up to 8,600 pounds without breaking a sweat.

A quick rundown of its features and specs will tell you exactly why the 2018 Tahoe should be your next full-size SUV. And we at McCarthy Chevrolet Olathe are happy to give that rundown to you.

To Lease or Buy Your Car: Which Makes the Most Sense?

Trying to decide if you would like to buy or lease your next vehicle? At McCarthy Chevrolet, we know that it can be a tough decision considering the many benefits of each option. To help you make the right choice, read this list of buying vs. leasing pros, and you’ll be well on your way to a new ride.

Main Reasons to Lease a New Car

  • You can drive a higher-priced and better-equipped vehicle than you otherwise might be able to afford. The monthly payments on a leased vehicle are usually cheaper than the payments when buying one.
  • You need not worry about fluctuations in the vehicle’s trade-in value, or go through the process of trying to sell it later. When you lease, you’re given the car’s resale value after your contract expires, and may buy it at the dealership or walk away.
  • You can get a new car every few years because lease contracts are usually for a shorter period of time than a financed purchase. When your lease term ends, you have many routes to take to buy or lease another new car. For instance, when returning a new Chevrolet leased through us, we’ll help you choose a replacement vehicle to lease or buy.
  • Driving a new car keeps you from spending a lot of money on complex repairs other than routine auto maintenance like tire rotations and oil changes.
  • A lease requires little or no money down, and in many states, you only pay the sales tax on the monthly payment and not the total price of the vehicle.
  • If the leased car is solely for business purposes, it can most likely be claimed as a tax deduction.

A Closer Look at the 2018 Chevy Malibu

The Malibu is a Chevy classic, and its 2018 incarnation is a stunning display of stylish sophistication, truly doing the Chevrolet name proud (KBB reviewer and contributing editor Joe Tralonga calls it a “head-turner”). Aside from its first-class styling, what does the 2018 Chevy Malibu bring to the proverbial table?

2018 Chevy Malibu

A Roomy, Comfortable Interior

As Kelley Blue Book points out, the Malibu’s “gauges are big and clear, the dash curves and swoops attractive, and it’s easy to see out.” Comfy front seats adjust well to any body type, and back seats offer more legroom than most other midsize sedans, allowing tall adults to sit without feeling like sardines. Add in some great tech like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the MyLink infotainment system (which not only looks great but is also user-friendly with its extra-large icons and knobs) and you’ve got one comfortable and functional sedan cabin. A Closer Look at the Electrifying 2017 Chevy Volt

Now in its second year of production, the second generation Chevy Volt has evolved to become a quiet yet exciting compact EV. Last year’s Volt was sold based on availability, but this year’s model hit showroom floors all over the country, including our Chevy dealership near Kansas City. What else does the 2017 Chevrolet Volt offer?

  • The body structure has changed, offering more traditional exterior styling and a more comfortable cabin.
  • A 1.5L engine is quieter and can be filled up with regular unleaded fuel, a first for the Volt (the previous model required premium gasoline).
  • The all-electric range has been improved significantly, from 38 miles to 53.
  • New options include adaptive cruise control and enhanced auto emergency braking.

The 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500HD: Not Your Average Pickup Truck

Whether at the construction site or on the meanest of mean streets of Kansas City, the 2017 Silverado 2500HD has just enough charm and more than enough muscle to get any job done. As one of Chevy’s best-selling pickup trucks, the Silverado 2500HD is available in four tried-and-true trims (WT, LT, LTZ, and High Country) with a variety of other “Special Edition” options also on the table. But no matter which version you opt for, you’re in for a treat.

“HD” Stands for “Heavy Duty”

Standard across the Silverado 2500 lineup is a Vortec® 6.0L V8 that makes 360 horsepower (at just 5400 rpm) and 380 lb.-ft. of torque (at 4200 rpm). This powerful V8 allows the Silverado to tow more than 14,000 pounds—or the equivalent of an overweight Asian elephant—and haul payloads up to 3,500 lbs. Continue Reading →
