The 2015 Hyundai Veloster Turbo R-Spec has not hit stores yet, but Hyundai is hard at work testing the 2016 model. These test drives are regarded as highly secretive so in order to prevent prying eyes, automakers often disguise their vehicles. Experts, however, were able to determine several key facts about this new car.
The 2016 Veloster Turbo features an upgraded grille with revised headlights. The bumper of this model also looks to be reimagined. Experts say the car’s body design is original and contains three doors (or four depending on your point of view). It appears there is a half-door on the right side of the car that may be carried over. New graphics on the tail lights as well as an updated infotainment system are also expected to make an appearance.
It’s likely that Hyundai has improved the transmission mount by making it more rigid in this 2016 model. In addition, it’s probable that this car retains the turbocharged 1.6 liter engine found in the current version. ECU modifications are expected to enhance the current Veloster’s 201 horsepower.
The 2016 Veloster Turbo is expected to be debuted to the public during the first half of 2015.

Hyundai Motor America is looking to double the number of Tucson sport utility vehicles it produces to meet consumer demand. With the 2015 Tucson set to hit the market later this year, sales of the SUVs are expected to increase from 45,000 to 90,000 units.
New plants in China, India and Brazil are expected to help keep up with demand. Hyundai also says it has additional land in Alabama to expand production if needed. The President and CEO of Hyundai Motor America, David Zuchowski, believes over half of the company’s growth in the next five years will be driven by the demand for the Tucson and other crossover vehicles.
Last year, the company sold a total of 720,783 units in the United States. This year, the company is expected to move 750,000 cars. The Tucson, as well as many other Hyundai vehicles, will contribute to this growth. A new Genesis was introduced last month and a new Elantra set to debut later in 2015. Production on the 2015 Sonata is also expected to begin next week.

The 2015 Hyundai Genesis received a 2014 Top Safety Pick+ distinction from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Cars are tested by the IIHS for five criteria: moderate overlap front, small overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints. Each vehicle is then rated as Good, Acceptable, Marginal or Poor based on its performance. When it comes to crash avoidance and mitigation, the IIHS tests vehicles that come furnished with crash prevention systems based on the type of system and performance on test tracks. Those vehicles are given a rating of Basic, Advanced, or Superior.
In order to get a Top Safety Pick+ distinction, cars must get a “Good” rating in the moderate front, side roof strength and head restraint tests and receive a “Good” or “Acceptable” rating in the small overlap front test. In addition, cars must also come equipped with a built in crash prevention system. Because the Genesis comes with advanced safety features, including brake-assisted forward collision warning, it was able to qualify for a TSP+ rating.

The Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association (GAAMA) named the 2015 Hyundai Genesis as their Top Family Choice during the 2nd Annual Family Choice Challenge. The Genesis scored more points than any other competitor at the signature event, which was held at Lake Lanier Island.
“A sport sedan like the 2015 Hyundai Genesis is attractive to drivers who want a family car but don’t want to sacrifice on style and performance,” said Nick Palermo, GAAMA president. “The Genesis earned its place as 2014 Top Family Choice by exceeding expectations. Although the previous-generation Genesis sedan is an impressive car, this new model again raises the bar for both Hyundai and its competitors. Families looking for accessible luxury should add the 2015 Genesis to their short lists.”
The 2015 Genesis is equipped with safety features families value in their vehicle. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Blind-Spot Detection, and Smart Cruise Control are all available for added safety. Starting at $38,000, this Hyundai sedan is cost efficient for the family, as well.

After first being introduced during this year’s Super Bowl, Hyundai’s “Dad’s Sixth Sense” ad has earned recognition as the first quarter’s second most effective advertisement from Ace Matrix. Ace Matrix is the lead provider of television and video analytics.
“As a leading automotive advertiser, the Super Bowl is Hyundai’s biggest moment to shine. In ‘Dad’s Sixth Sense,’ we wanted to show how the safety features of the Genesis are like the safety a dad provides to his children, coming to the rescue when it counts. We’re proud to see how strongly our viewers connected with the ad’s message,” said Steve Shannon, vice president of Marketing, Hyundai Motor America.
Ace Matrix measured ads’ creative effectiveness utilizing viewer reactions to national TV ads to choose its top ten list. Each ad was scored on these qualities: persuasion, relevance, information, attention, change, desire and watchability.
