Looking for a fun workout that will get you off the couch? The Foam Glow 5K is welcoming everyone in town to a unique exercise session on September 3rd! Glowing Foam and Black lights will surround participants throughout the 3-mile course at Sam Houston Race Park. Whether you plan on running or walking, you’ll be gleaming with color and a sense of accomplishment at the finish line!
One of the most popular autumn festivities, Oktoberfest, is bringing lively music, tasty food, large pints of beer and merrymaking to Houston! Spend a breezy evening celebrating the German holiday on September 24th at The Water Works, located at 105 Sabine St, Houston, TX 77007.
3) 32nd Annual C.A.F. Wings Over Houston Airshow
The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the Navy’s Blue Angels will put on quite a performance with aerial acrobatics at the 32nd Annual C.A.F. Wings Over Houston Airshow! Prepare to be stunned by the excellent talent of each aircraft pilot.
Not to mention, you’ll have the opportunity to look at displays of different aircraft from current Air Force and Navy inventories. The Commemorative Air Force will also be remembering the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The airshow takes off and lands at Houston’s Ellington Field October 22nd-23rd.
4) Scream World
If you’re brave enough, take a stroll through 5 different spine-chilling attractions at Scream World -Houston’s Most Terrifying Haunted Houses. While inside, you’ll visit the horrifying meat processing plant at Jake’s Slaughterhouse before being hunted down by prowling evil clowns in the Clown Asylum Maze. If you survive, we guarantee these hair-raising exhibits will have you tossing and turning all night!
5) Dewberry Farm Fall Fun & Pumpkin Patch
Kid-friendly Halloween attractions can be found in and around town too. Dewberry Farm Fall Fun and Pumpkin Patch welcomes kids of all ages to an abundance of autumn activities. Maneuver your way out of an 8-acre corn maze, pick pumpkins, view the astounding 500+ lighted pumpkins show, climb 26-feet up Sliiide Mountain, and much more! Dewberry Farm will be open on weekends September 24th-November 13th.
6) Houston Art Fair
This year’s Houston Art Fair will feature fantastic art pieces you’ll have to see to believe! View a wide variety of designs presented by galleries from around the world exhibiting modern and contemporary artwork. Different selections will include media pieces such as painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed-media. Come out and examine the beautiful artwork accomplished by talented artists!
7) International Quilt Festival
Embrace your crafty and creative side while looking at uniquely beautiful quilts at the International Quilt Festival. Shop from over 1,000 antique and modern quilts and original cloth dolls at the George R. Brown Convention Center November 3rd-6th! Hundreds of booths will be selling quilts, crafts, and supplies as well as offering beginner and expert level classes.
