It’s that time again when ghosts, goblins, and all types of costumed characters head out throughout Ocala in search of Halloween treats.
Halloween should be all about fun. But unfortunately, this festive holiday comes with its unique set of dangers. A parent’s worst nightmare is that their child will be injured or harmed while going door-to-door to fill their Halloween goodie bag.
Fortunately, there is an alternative to traditional trick-or-treating that is gaining in popularity. It’s called “Trunk Or Treat.” You can think of it as a “Halloween tailgate party.” Rather than having kids roam the streets at night knocking on strangers’ doors, local organizations like schools or churches invite parents to bring their cars, trucks, minivans, or SUVs to a central location. They can then safely pass out candies and goodies from the trunks of their vehicles. That is how this new Halloween tradition got its name. Continue reading
