Either way, the Corolla will have heads turning with its aggressive front grille, swept back projector-beam headlights, and rakish, aerodynamic sheet metal that helps improve handling and fuel economy. 8 Great Household Spring Cleaning Tips from Germain Toyota of Columbus

Springtime means warmer weather is finally on its way. Along with Easter, March Madness, and the start of baseball season, there’s another annual tradition that occurs around this time of year: Spring Cleaning.

The harsh winter months have certainly taken their toll on your home, which is why we’ve put together a list of eight home spring cleaning tips which we hope will help inspire you to roll up your sleeves and give your home a thorough cleaning that will have it sparkling well into the rest of the year.

Spring Cleaning

  1. Wash and seal your floors in one step – There are many products on the market which combine a floor cleaner with a protective wax that will save time and energy. Use a quality wood-floor cleaner before applying a fresh coat of wax. Always follow label directions.
  2. Brighten things up – Use an all-purpose cleaner, sponge, and polish cloth. For those high, hard-to-reach fixtures or skylights, use a good quality step ladder and have someone there to “spot” you for extra stability and safety. You can also buy an extended-reach cleaning tool for those hard-to-reach spots.
  3. Clean your fridge, inside and out – Remove all the food from your fridge, throw out what’s expired, and clean with warm soapy water. It’s important to pull the fridge out and clean off the condenser coils.
  4. Make vacuuming easier – You don’t have to lug heavy furniture to get to every corner any more. Instead, move your heavier furniture a bit to the right or left and vacuum the exposed area. This technique will not only save time, it will be easier on your back.
  5. Scrub walls, cabinets, baseboard, and woodwork –The best way to clean walls is with inexpensive dishwashing detergent and a sponge. A sponge mop will help you reach higher spots. Dry with a clean cloth.
  6. Change AC/Furnace filters – Use a cloth and a vacuum with a brush attachment to clean ceiling fans and air conditioning/heating vents. Replace dirty filters.
  7. Clean your doormats – Give your welcome mat a thorough cleaning so it can keep working effectively to keep dirt and debris from being tracked into your house.
  8. Clean carpets and upholstery – Whether you choose to clean your carpets and upholstery yourself or decide to hire a professional cleaning company, be sure and check that the treatment won’t discolor fabrics. Instead of moving heavy furniture completely out of the way, place the legs on a wax paper square to protect them after shampooing. Open windows and doors to speed up the drying process.

Speaking of Spring Cleaning, we thank you for your patience during the construction of our new sales facilities here at Germain Toyota of Columbus. Visit our new showroom, conveniently located at 5711 Scarborough Blvd. Columbus, OH 43232 or give us a call at 888-711-8804 today!
