Fall is in full swing here in Dayton. With the colder winter months soon to be on our doorstep, now is the time to prep your Honda (or another make or model vehicle) for the change of seasons. Our certified service technicians here at Germain Honda of Beavercreek, your hometown Honda dealership in Dayton, Ohio, gathered together some simple car care tips that you can easily do yourself. Of course, our Service Department is always ready and willing to lend a hand, providing you with expert advice and assistance. We can also do the work for you.

Blades – If your wiper blades are streaking, skipping, or have worn/split rubber, replace them with genuine Honda wiper blades. New wiper blades will make sure they are up to the task of keeping your windshield clean during wet and snowy weather. Our Parts Department stocks an assortment of wiper blades especially made for your Honda. Or you can purchase and install wiper blades from your local auto parts store. And don’t forget to replace the third wiper blade in the back if your car is so equipped.
Battery – Temperature extremes are a huge drain on your battery. Inspect the battery posts and cables for corrosion and clean if necessary. If there is a lot of corrosion on the terminals or cables, purchase an inexpensive wire battery cleaner. Remove the cables using a socket wrench, clean, and reconnect the cables; making sure they fit snugly. You can also buy small felt discs that go over the battery posts to slow down corrosion. If you’re still finding it harder to start your car, have your battery, starter, and alternator checked by one of our certified technicians to ensure that they are operating correctly.
