2015 Cadillac CTS: 4 Safety Features to Keep you Riding in Style

The 2015 Cadillac CTS is among the safest and most technologically advanced luxury sedans in the world. Offering a wide variety of driver assist and awareness features, the CTS has been designed to minimize the chances of traffic collisions and keep you and your loved ones safer on the road. Let’s check out the top 4 available safety features Cadillac has packed into their new model:

  1. Heads Up display

head-up-display

One of the greatest dangers when driving is the all too common instance of a driver taking their eyes off of the road. Whether it is to check the GPS, change the radio station, or read a text, taking your eyes off of the road even for a second could lead to disaster. For this reason the CTS features an available Heads Up display that projects anything from navigation, to radio settings, to the car’s travelling speed subtly but noticeably onto the windshield so that you never have to take your eyes off the road. Although this feature seems more stylish than anything, nothing could be more useful to keeping you and your passengers safe than keeping the driver alert and focused on the road at all times. The Heads Up display combined with the CTS’s voice recognition capabilities means that you will never have to look at your phone, GPS, or radio while driving again.

  1. Automatic braking

2015-Cadillac-CTS-sedan

Drivers are unpredictable. For this reason auto accidents happen every day. It is an unfortunate reality, but luckily the Cadillac CTS is equipped to reduce the chances of collision, and when collisions are unavoidable, it has the tools to minimize their severity. The car’s automatic braking system is equipped with front and rear sensors that detect objects in its path, and in turn activate the brakes to slow the car before impact, or even avoid collision altogether. This technological advancement has revolutionized driver safety standards and is a must have for car owners with precious cargo.

  1. Automatic seat belt

automatic-seat-belt

The CTS offers automatic seat belt tightening for the front two seats that can sense when the driver is abruptly stopping or turning. This nifty little feature can sense the presence of an emergency and tightens the belt to the driver and passenger to keep them safe in the case of a collision. This feature works hand in hand with the car’s 10 standard airbags to keep the driver safe and at a constant peace of mind while on the road.

  1. Adaptive cruise control

adaptive-cruise-control

The engineers at Cadillac equipped the CTS with an adaptive cruise control that allows you to choose a set distance that you want to maintain between you and the car ahead of you. This feature will apply the brakes if it senses that you are getting too close to the car ahead of you, and will maintain a speed of your choice in the case of a clear road. This feature is perfect for long drives, and even works in stop-and-go traffic. Although this tool is extremely useful in many ways, it is still essential that the driver maintains attention to the road while driving at all times, even if it is made easier by the car’s features.

Each of these features is specially designed to make your driving experience safer for you, your passengers, and the other drivers on the road. The technological advancements present in the CTS are what make it one of the safest luxury sedans on the market. To pick up your own, come visit us at Germain Cadillac of Easton located at 4200 Morse Crossing, Columbus, OH 43219-3024 or give us a call at (877) 875-8710. Columbus Clippers Swing into 2015 Triple-A Minor-League Baseball Season

It’s finally spring here in Columbus, and our own Columbus Clippers are ready to set sail on another banner season after last year’s championship effort that saw them compile a stellar 79-65 won/loss record, clinching the International League West Division title and their first post-season berth since 2011.columbus-clippers-picture

Play Ball!

The Cleveland Indians Triple-A baseball affiliate once again looks to put a highly competitive team on the field. Manager Chris Tremie returns for his third season at the helm, bringing former Cleveland and Seattle pitching coach Carl Willis and former Cleveland hitting coach Rouglas Odor in as new coaches on the staff. Last season, the Clippers sent several outstanding players to the Indians, including catcher Roberto Perez, infielder, Jose Ramirez, outfielder Tyler Holt, and pitchers Trevor Bauer and T.J. House. Nevertheless, Tremie hopes to do well with a balanced mix of veterans and some talented newcomers adding their names to the roster. A major positive going into this year is that outstanding prospect, shortstop Francisco Lindor, will be staying with the ballclub. Others key prospects from the Tribe’s organization who could see time with the Clippers include All-Star first baseman, Jesus Aguilar, third baseman Giovanny Urshela, and outfielders Carlos Moncrief and James Ramsey.

The Clippers open the season April 9 with a four-game set at Indianapolis, followed by two games against the Louisville Bats before returning to the friendly confines of Huntington Park for a nine-day home stand that kicks off with the Toledo Mud Hens on Saturday, April 18 at 6:05 p.m.

Additionally, the Clippers are proud to announce that their state-of-the-art, 10,100-seat stadium located in the downtown Arena District was recently named “Ballpark of the Year” for the fourth straight time in a row by BaseballStadiumReviews.com.

Your winning team here at Germain Cadillac of Easton, the premier Cadillac dealership in Columbus, Ohio, wishes the Clippers the best of luck as we all look forward to another winning season in 2015.

Cadillac ATS-V Front

Cadillac ATS-V

Engineered to outperform.

The first-ever ATS-V demonstrates Cadillac’s prowess at engineering a performance-driven car that shatters both convention and track times; whether on the race course or daily commute. A 3.6 liter twin-turbo V6 with titanium Alluminide turbine blades generates more than 450 hp and 440 lb. ft. of torque, allowing the rear-wheel drive ATS-V to rocket from 0-60 mph in under four seconds, while massive vented, six-piston Brembo® brakes ensure the ultimate in stopping power. With a top speed in excess of 185 mph, the ATS-V is poised to challenge the world’s finest – from the twisting turns of Nürburgring and Laguna Seca to the broad avenues of Main St. USA.

The 2016 Cadillac ATS-V is a tour de force in engineering excellence, artistic design, and technological advancement. A six-speed manual transmission offers Performance Traction Management, “No-Lift Shift,” and Active Rev Management. Or, drivers can opt for a silky smooth eight-speed automatic transmission utilizing a shorter first gear ratio and fast shift times for excellent off-the-line acceleration. Four selectable driving modes are available through the use of V-tuned, temperature adapting Magnetic Ride Control which adapts to changes in road conditions up to 1,000 times per second.

The interior of the new 2016 ATS-V is no less dramatic and inspiring than its bold chiseled aerodynamic exterior. A full-color heads up display (HUD), genuine RECARO® seats, and magnesium paddle shifters are just a sampling of the many luxurious and technologically advanced cabin refinements awaiting the proud owner of either the stunning two-door coupe or breathtaking four-door sedan.

Scheduled to arrive in showrooms across the country in the spring of this year, the superb, performance-bred 2016 Cadillac ATS-V is sure to be one of the most talked-about new cars unveiled at this year’s Detroit Auto Show, along with the highly anticipated full-sized Cadillac CT-6 (still under wraps), rumored to be a front-runner for the marque’s new flagship; echoing the spirit of the iconic de Ville nameplate.

Getting Ready for “Michigan Week” at OSU

The tradition. The pageantry. The passion. The biggest rivalry in college football. Nothing compares to “Michigan Week” as proud Buckeyes throughout Ohio – and especially here in Columbus – get their game face on as we prepare to battle arch-rival Michigan.

All of us at Germain Cadillac of Easton proudly wear our scarlet and gray as we enthusiastically support our beloved Bucks. So we thought it would be fun to share with our fellow fans some of the great traditions and little-known facts that surround this most glorious gridiron contest.

Buckeyes

The Buckeye Tree and Buckeye Grove – Its nuts are poisonous (especially to anyone wearing the maize and blue!), it thrives where other plants can’t, and it’s very difficult to kill. No wonder that this hearty, resilient, and beautiful tree epitomizes what it means to be a Buckeye. Take a stroll through Buckeye Grove and pay homage to the great All-Americans who have brought glory and victory to OSU over the years.

“Across the Field” was written by W.A.  Dougherty, Jr. in 1915 as a rousing fight-song companion to the more subdued “Carmen Ohio.”  The “Buckeye Battle Cry” is played as the OSU marching band charges onto the field before each game.

The Mirror Lake Jump began back in 1934 and is still going strong today as students show their Buckeye pride by braving the lake’s frigid waters the Thursday night before the game.

The tradition of giving a “Gold Pants” charm to every player after every victory against Michigan began in 1934 when then first-year Coach Francis Smith said of the other side: “They put their pants on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.”

Red “Ms” begin secretly springing up all over the OSU campus during the Monday of game week as every “M” is covered with scarlet tape.

Blood Battle is a civic-minded competition between OSU and Michigan to see who can donate the most blood to the American Red Cross. The Wolverines hold the edge, but OSU students hope to come out on top this year for this most worthy cause.

Buckeye Craft Night gives students the chance to decorate signs, make buckeye necklaces, and show their support. Best of all, it’s free.

“TBDBITL” stands for “The Best Damn Band in the Land.” The phrase was coined by Woody Hayes to describe the Ohio State Marching Band. And it symbolizes the high standard of excellence in all academic and sports endeavors that all Buckeyes strive to achieve. The band was formed in 1878 to provide marching music for the school’s ROTC cadets. This proud military heritage can still be seen in the band’s military-style uniforms, and the precision drills the band performs.

The world-famous “incomparable” Script Ohio and “Dotting the i” formation was first performed on October 10, 1936 during halftime of the OSU/Univ. of Pittsburgh game. A fourth or fifth-year sousaphone player is given the honor of “dotting the i” as the band plays the French regimental tune: “Le Regiment de Sambre et Meuse.”  Golfer Jack Nicklaus and astronaut John Glenn are two of the most famous non-band members to have the honor of “dotting the i.”
