Cadillac Of Easton’s 13 Tips For A Safe Halloween

All throughout Columbus and surrounding communities, little ghosts, goblins, wizards, fairy princesses, and ninja warriors are eagerly waiting for that magical moment on October 31st when they can ring doorbells and shout “Trick or Treat!”

While Halloween 2015 in Columbus should be a fun time for the entire family, unfortunately, the holiday has a serious side. If you have young ones who will be trick or treating this Halloween, what’s truly scary for you as parents aren’t the costumes, it is the possibility of injury to your children.

As your preferred Columbus Cadillac dealership, Germain Cadillac of Easton takes safety seriously. That’s not surprising since our 2015 Cadillacs are some of the safest and most reliable vehicles on the road today. And because we treat our customers like family, we want to (literally) spell out for you what you can do to prevent this evening of spooky fun from turning into a nightmare for you and your family.

That’s why we want to share our 13 top tips for a “S.A.F.E. H.A.L.L.O.W.E.E.N.”

Halloween-safety-tips

S. Only use short, soft, and bendable swords, knives, and other accessories.

A. Always walk with a group or an adult. Don’t venture out alone.

F. Fasten reflective tape on costumes, bags, and accessories to make it easier to see.

E. Examine treats before you eat. Look for choking hazards and evidence of tampering.

H. Hold a flashlight to make you more visible to cars on dark streets. Don’t run, but walk to houses, and be careful crossing streets.

A. Always make sure makeup is safe. Test a small area first before applying. Remove all makeup to avoid eye and skin irritation.

L. Look both ways when crossing the street. Hold an adult’s hand and use marked crosswalks whenever possible.

L. Lower your risk of possible eye injury. Do not wear decorative contact lenses!

O. Only walk on sidewalks. Or, if there’s no sidewalk, walk on the far edge of the road facing traffic so you can see who’s coming.

W. Wear masks, shoes, and costumes that fit correctly to avoid tripping and impaired vision.

E. Eat treats and candies that are store-bought or factory-wrapped. Don’t eat anything that looks homemade, unless it’s from someone you know like a neighbor or relative.

E. Enter homes only with a trusted adult, and only if it’s someone you know, like a friend or relative. Don’t stop at dark houses and never ride with strangers.

N. Never walk close to candles, luminaries (bags with candles inside of them), or any open flame. Always wear costumes that are flame-resistant.

We hope that you will carefully consider these 13 “SAFE HALLOWEEN” tips. Let’s all make sure that the focus during this year’s Halloween in Columbus will be on fun and not on a frightening injury or accident.
