2018 Ford F-150 Truck

The 4×4 pickup is the quintessential winter weather vehicle. Before front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive were popular, 4×4 pickups were making short work snowy weather—and these trucks are still great for such tasks. The optional 10-speed electronic transmission makes the F-150 an even better choice with its dedicated snow/wet weather mode selector, which is a main reason why remains one of the best-selling pickups in its class. Browse our inventory of 2018 Ford F-150 trucks for sale.

“With hundreds of available configurations, you’ll have an easy time finding a 2018 Ford F-150 that meets your needs. Overall it’s a comprehensive package that makes the F-150 one of our favorite trucks on the road.” – Edmunds

To make winter even easier to tackle, we recommend the following Ford F-150 accessory: step bars with slip-resistant pads. Allow our Ford Auto Parts department order and install these add-ons for your new F-150.

Ford Explorer

Ford’s most popular SUV comes with the exclusive Intelligent 4-Wheel-Drive and Terrain Management System (standard on the Sport and Platinum models). The Explorer’s available 180-degree front camera will allow you to have an extra set of eyes when visibility gets low. And if you’re taking a trip to see family over the holidays, there’s more than enough room for kids and pets. View our selection of new Ford Explorers in Salem.

Take full advantage of the winter weather by purchasing a Thule ski/snowboard hitch mount carrier, and hit the slopes this season.

2018 Ford Flex SEL and Flex Limited

These Ford Flex SUVs are available with Ford’s optional Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive system to help you get a move-on when Salem’s infamous winter weather hits. With spacious seating for seven, the Flex offers comforts from front to back. Or, you can fold the second- and third-row seats back to expose a massive 83.2-cubic-feet of cargo space.

“Thanks to its optional 365-hp turbocharged V6 and all-wheel drive, the Flex has plenty of power and traction.” – Edmunds

Like our recommendation for the Explorer, a ski/snowboard hitch mount carrier by Thule is also available for the Flex. Order your Ford SUV accessory here, and be sure to look at our current selection of new Flex models.

2018 Ford Focus or Fusion

For those who do not want an SUV or truck, the Focus makes for an excellent choice in the winter. It is equipped with Ford’s Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel-Drive system, which automatically diverts torque to the wheels that need it most, ensuring that you always have traction. Opt for the Wheel and Tire package to take full advantage of the car’s all-wheel-drive.

Another option for those in the market for a car is the 2018 Ford Fusion. With available all-wheel-drive, this highly rated mid-sized sedan will be more than adequate in the winter. When conditions are slippery, it is especially important to see the road from all angles; the standard rearview camera makes it simple to see exactly what is in the way when backing up, so you can reverse with confidence even when it’s snowing.

“We’re suckers for horsepower, and we’re down with the 2018 Ford Fusion Sport and its 325-horsepower 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6. Along with AWD and an even better suspension, the Fusion Sport promises Audi A6 performance on, well, a Ford budget.” – Kelley Blue Book

Ford: Making Winters Easier to Handle

Of course, these all-star Ford models have more to offer than just valuable winter-driving capabilities. Ford has made its Sync 3 system available on all its 2018 models. Sync 3 brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to your dashboard, as well as a complete infotainment system, full-color touchscreen, navigation, satellite radio and all of the other features that you would expect from a modern infotainment system.
