Most Americans in the twenty-first century live tweet by tweet, post by post, so it seems likely that the average family’s chosen mode of transportation would echo off the same digital walls. In the cavernous and feature-filled 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Minivan, you could sing its praises and hear the playback on an endless loop.
Okay, that’s not technically true. But there’s still a lot to love in (and out) of the new Pacifica minivan, which is available right now at our Chrysler dealership in Roanoke, VA. Disregard our unsubtle dealer plug and read all about the 2018 Pacifica below.
Two Pacifica Flavors, One Splendid Drive
Chrysler has developed a tour de force with its Pacifica lineup, offering contemporary families more than meets the eye with both the gas-powered model and Pacifica Hybrid.
The standard 2018 Pacifica is available in six trims (Limited, Touring L Plus, Touring L, Plus, LX, and L—whew). Its Limited trim sits atop the lineup and is as cool as the other side of the pillow, offering features like Nappa leather seats, a tri-pane panoramic sunroof, and everyone’s favorite Stow ‘n Vac system. A 3.6L V6 sits under all Pacifica hoods and delivers a healthy 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, resulting in best-in-class towing capacity. Take that, Honda.
Cooler yet is the Pacifica Hybrid, which makes fuel efficiency even sexier than it already is. Available as a Touring Plus, Touring L, and Limited model, the Pacifica Hybrid is the first of its kind. Don’t think a minivan can sip fuel like a compact sedan?
- It returns 84 MPGe. Hasta la vista, gas stations.
- It can tackle up to 566 miles without a charge or fill-up. Have an upcoming family trip? Pacifica it up!
- It has a range of 33 miles in all-electric mode, making those Roanoke-to-Salem trips effectively cost $0. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
- It is equipped with a generous lithium-ion battery that comes backed by a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty (see our Roanoke dealer for more details).
- It may also come with a $7,500 federal tax credit (again, ask us).
Yes, the future is here, and it looks a lot like the Chrysler minivan.
The Pacifica is Driven by Technology
In 2018, a minivan is no longer just a seven-seater to get you from A to B. With the Pacifica, you get those seven seats—some packages are available to up this to eight—as well as some super-find tech to lead you along your way.
Standard in the base Pacifica are features like a six-speaker stereo system, 7” touchscreen, Bluetooth, USB port, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Chrysler’s acclaimed Uconnect infotainment system.
Step up your game and opt for some available Pacifica features, such as tri-zone automatic climate controls, KeySense, two 10” rear touchscreens, rear DVD player, satellite radio, and an 8.4” dash touchscreen with navigation. Upgrade Uconnect and you’ll go places, as it provides more than just infotainment fare (Uconnect Theater, for instance, includes a “License Plate Game” for the kids).
On the safety front, the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica is the epitome of protection wrapped in fine sheet metal and plastic. It’s earned a 2018 Top Safety Pick from the IIHS and a five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA. Standard and optional safety features in the Pacifica include:
- 360° Surround View Camera
- Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus
- Automatic Emergency Braking
- ParkSense Rear Park Assist with Stop
- Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist System
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go
- Rear Cross Path Detection
- LaneSense Lane Departure Warning
- Blind Spot Monitoring
- Rearview Camera
- LATCH Anchors
